Áine Brady

Áine Brady ( Irish Áine Uí Bhrádaigh , born September 8, 1954 as Áine Kitt ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and was a member of the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament , from 2007 to 2011 .

In the 2005 by- elections in the Kildare North constituency , Brady ran for Fianna Fáil, but was defeated by Catherine Murphy . It was not until the next regular election in May 2007 that she managed to beat Murphy and be elected to the 30th Dáil Éireann. In her capacity as MP ( Teachta Dála ) Brady became Minister of State in the Ministry of Health in April 2009 . Your responsibilities include seniors and health promotion. In the elections for the 31st Dáil Éireann, Catherine Murphy succeeded again in February 2011 against Brady.

Prior to her political career as an MP, she was a teacher at Scoil na Mainistreach in Celbridge for 22 years and was also active in local politics in County Kildare .

Brady is married to former MP Gerry Brady and has four children. She is the daughter of Irish politician Michael F. Kitt . MPs Tom and Michael P. Kitt are her brothers.
