Ángela Pradelli

Ángela Pradelli (born October 26, 1959 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine writer . Her work includes poetry, novels and essays. She also teaches literature and works as a specialist author on educational issues.

Life

In 1999 Ángela Pradelli won first prize at the Concurso Interamericano de Cuentos de la Fundación Avón. In 2002 she won the Premio Emecé for her novel Amigas mías , and in 2004 the “Beca Nacional para Escritores” award. In the same year Pradelli secured the Premio Clarín de Novela for her work El lugar del padre , a prize advertised by the Argentine newspaper of the same name. In 2005 and 2007, her journalistic articles were recognized by the Asociación de Entidades Periodísticas Argentinas (ADEPA).

Thanks to the support of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes , Pradelli was Writer in Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida. In 2010 she was a guest writer in residence in Switzerland at the invitation of the Pro Helvetia Foundation . From June to November 2012, Ángela Pradelli was Writer in Residence at the Literaturhaus Zürich and the PWG Foundation in Zürich.
