Jabulani Adatus Nxumalo

Jabulani Adatus Nxumalo OMI (born January 27, 1944 in Durban ) is a South African religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bloemfontein .

Life

Jabulani Adatus Nxumalo joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary and was ordained a priest on September 2, 1974 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Durban and titular bishop of Ficus on July 8, 2002 . The Archbishop of Durban , Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier OFM , ordained him episcopal on September 12 of the same year; Co-consecrators were George Francis Daniel , Archbishop of Pretoria and Military Ordinary of South Africa , and Paul Mandla Khumalo CMM , Bishop of Witbank .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on October 10, 2005 Archbishop of Bloemfontein. On April 1, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Jabulani Adatus Nxumalo's resignation due to reasons of age.
