George Francis Daniel (born February 5, 1933 in Pretoria , South Africa ) is retired Archbishop of Pretoria .

Life

George Francis Daniel was ordained a priest on December 19, 1964 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Pretoria .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 28, 1975 Archbishop of Pretoria. The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop Emeritus of Pretoria, John Colburn Garner , on August 3 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Alfredo Poledrini , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Lesotho and Apostolic Delegate in South Africa, and Herman Joseph Meysing OMI , Archbishop of Bloemfontein .

On March 26, 1976 Paul VI appointed him. also as military vicar for South Africa. On November 24, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
