Ángeles Mastretta
Ángeles Mastretta (born October 9, 1949 in Puebla , Mexico ) is a Mexican poet and novelist.
Life
Mastretta received her doctorate in communication studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and worked as an editor on radio, television and several magazines until 1985. She is married with two children and lives in Mexico City .
Her first book publication was in 1975 the volume of poetry La pájara pinta . Several novels have followed since then. Mexican tango , women with big eyes , Emilia and husbands were translated into German. For "Mexican Tango" she was awarded the prestigious Premio Mazatlán literary prize, and for "Emilia" she was the first woman to receive the Rómulo Gallegos Prize .
