Ási í Bæ

Ási í Bæ , actually Ástgeir Ólafsson , (born February 27, 1914 , † May 1, 1985 in Reykjavík ) was an Icelandic writer.

Life

He graduated from a cooperative school in 1940 and then worked as a deep-sea fisherman and office worker on the Icelandic Westman Islands . In 1968 he moved to Reykjavík. There he worked as a cabaret artist and actor. At times he was editor of the satirical magazine Spegillinn ( Spiegel ).

As an author, he has written a novel, volumes of stories and poems about deep-sea fishing and a travelogue about Greenland .
