Ângela Figueiredo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ângela Figueiredo , mostly without an accent abroad ( Angela Figueiredo ) (born March 8, 1961 as Ângela Barroso de Figueiredo in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian actress .

Live and act

The daughter of the director Vera de Figueiredo (* 1934) had already gained experience in show business as a teenager. When she was 15 she stood in front of a film camera for the first time (in a cinema production staged by her mother) and was soon photographed several times in magazines. In addition, the sporty girl was considered a talented capoeirista from a young age .

Angela Figueiredo began working regularly as an actress in the early 80s. The slim, attractive Carioca concentrated almost exclusively on television. Much of her work was melodramatic. Occasionally, she also starred in (rather sassy) romances like in Johnny Love , one of her few movies. There she played the singer Juliana, who met the eponymous photographer Johnny in a car accident, fell in love with him and celebrated her breakthrough as a rock star after all sorts of trials and tribulations.

Angela Figueiredo, however, was mainly involved in an abundance of telenovelas , which, however, were rarely shown outside of Brazil. Along with her colleague Cláudia Ohana , she is one of the most popular actresses of her generation and her country.

Private

Angela Figueiredo was married to the actor and director Dennis (de) Carvalho (* 1946). Their relationship with surfer Marcos Bouth resulted in their daughter Diana Bouth (* 1980), who now works as a television presenter. Angela Figueiredo later married the lead singer of the punk rock band Titãs , Branco Mello (* 1962). From this marriage the children Bento (* 1991) and Joaquim (* 1999) emerged. Angela Figueiredo has also been a grandmother since August 2006. With husband Branco and daughter Diana she founded her own production company, Caso 5. In 2008 she and this company produced a documentary about her husband's band.
