Aksi (also Väike-Prangli; German: Klein-Wrangelsholm ) is an uninhabited island in the Baltic Sea off the north coast of Estonia in the Gulf of Finland .

Aksi forms an archipelago with the nearby islands of Prangli and Keri . The area of ​​the island is 59 hectares . The ground is sandy. The vegetation is characterized by juniper bushes. In places there are white birches . Aksi is part of the Prangli Nature Reserve. A small lighthouse was built in 1986.

The island belongs to Viimsi Municipality ( Harjumaa County ).

history

The island was permanently settled between 1790 and 1953. The residents were known as skilled boat and furniture builders and also made a living from fishing. With the Soviet occupation of Estonia, the last five families were expelled and most of them moved to Sweden. Today nobody lives permanently on the island.
