The Ethiopian highland hare ( Lepus starcki ) is a species of mammal from the hare family (Leporidae).
This hare species is endemic to the mountainous region of the central part of Ethiopia , its habitat is grasslands at 2200 to 4400 meters above sea level. Little is known about their way of life, like most real hares , they are mainly nocturnal, they feed on grasses and herbs and should live solitary outside the mating season.
In its small area of distribution (less than 100,000 km 2 ) the Ethiopian highland hare is still relatively common, it is not an endangered species.
