Åke Axelsson (born February 29, 1932 in Urshult ) is a Swedish interior designer . Axelsson is one of the most important Swedish designers. He had a significant impact on post-war Swedish design.

life and work

After training as a carpenter in Visby from 1947 to 1951, Axelsson continued his education in Munich . This was followed by a deepening of knowledge at the Swedish art school Konstfack . Axelsson designed several well-known Swedish furniture and has won several awards. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
