Åke Bergman

Bengt Åke Lennart Bergman [ bɛŋt ˈoːkə lɛnːaʈ ˈbærjman ] (* 1950 ) is a Swedish chemist .

Life

Bergman is a professor at Stockholm University and deputy head of the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry there. His specialty is organic environmental chemistry , where he is particularly concerned with exposure modeling to pollutants such as persistent organic pollutants (POP). Bergman's research focuses on endocrine disruptors and brominated flame retardants .

Bergman played a leading role in the documentary Underkastelsen alongside Eva Röse .

Memberships

Bergman is vice chairman of the EuChemMS Division of Chemicals in the Environment and the International Panel on Chemical Pollution.
