Åland Landscape Government
The Åland Landscape Government ( Swedish Ålands landskapsregering , Finnish Ahvenanmaan maakunnan hallitus ) forms the executive branch of the autonomous Finnish Åland Islands for all policy areas in which Åland is autonomous under the self-government law. The Åland Prime Minister is at the head of the eight-member government .
legitimation
The Åland landscape government is legitimized in accordance with a democracy through the Lagting , which represents the representative body. She is responsible to him and is also elected by him, whereby a minority government is also possible.
composition
The Prime Minister, who is at the head of the government, and the Deputy Prime Minister have no other specialist department in their area of responsibility. The other members of the government head one of the ministries:

Current landscape government
After the parliamentary elections in Åland 2019 , the coalition partners Åland Center , Moderate Collection for Åland , Unbound Collection in Åland and the Sustainable Initiative formed a cabinet under Prime Minister Veronica Thörnroos .
Seat of government
The Åland landscape government has its seat right next to the Lagting am Österhamn, the port on Mariehamn's east coast . Both parts of the building enclose the self-management garden ( Självstyrelsegården in Swedish ).
