The Ålesundet is a narrow inlet in the Norwegian province of Møre og Romsdal .

It is located in downtown Ålesund and separates the island of Aspøy in the west from the island of Nørvøy in the east . In the north, the Ålesundet borders the Ålesund port of Vågen . In the south, the Ålesundet merges with the Brusundet at the Hellebrua bridge connecting the islands . In the north-south direction, the arm extends over about 350 meters with a width of about 25 to 75 meters. It reaches depths of up to five meters.

Various older storage buildings stand on the banks. On the south-western bank is the Apotekertorget with the Svaneapoteket and the sculptures Sildekona and Fiskergutten . The old storage building Rønnebergbua is on the east bank . In this area, the Ålesundet has been made smaller by land reclamation.
