Ånøya is a lake in the Norwegian municipalities of Melhus and Skaun in Trøndelag Province . With an area of ​​10.57 km², Ånøya, which is around 7 km long and at its widest point over 2 km wide, is the largest body of water in an area with numerous lakes (including Gaustadvatnet , Grøtvatnet , Benna , Skjeggstadvatnet and Malmsjøen ) west of the Gaula River and south of the Trondheimfjord . Ånøya is the largest and deepest of these lakes.

In the lake there is the island of Myraholmen next to some small islands .
