Gaustadvatnet (also Gaustadvatn or Gaustadvannet ) is the name of a lake in Norway . The town of Korsvegen ( Melhus municipality , Trøndelag province ) lies by the lake , about 45 kilometers south of Trondheim . The lake is about 2.8 kilometers long and a little less than 1 kilometer wide at its widest point. It is roughly the shape of a boot, with an island in the middle called Holmen . The lake is part of a kind of lake district ( Grøtvatnet , Benna , Skjeggstadvatnet , Ånøya and Malmsjøen ) and is 164 meters above sea level.
