The École européenne supérieure de l'image (College of Visual Media) is a French state art school with two locations, one in Angoulême and one in Poitiers .

The École européenne supérieure de l'image has a clear focus on the new media , while the Poitiers location specializes in artistic training in the field of electronic media .

In close cooperation with the Center National de la Bande Dessinée et de l''Image (CNBDI), the National Center for Comics and Images , the Angoulême site offers a comics course that leads to a Diplôme National d ' Arts Plastiques - option communication, mention Bande Dessinée (National Diploma for Fine Arts - Option Communication , Note: Comic), DNAP for short, concludes after three years. Following the DNAP, a second diploma, the DNSEP - Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique (Higher National Diploma for Artistic Expression) can be obtained after a further two years.

At the Poitiers site, DNSEP holders can take up a master's or doctoral degree in “Arts Numériques” (Artistic Telematics).

The Institut Saint-Luc also has a very renowned department for comics .
