The École du Louvre

The École du Louvre ( Louvre School ) was founded in 1882 and is a college of art history , archeology , epigraphy and museology in Paris under the French Ministry of Culture and Communication . It is located inside the Louvre in the “Aile de Flore” wing. As a Grande école , it is one of the training centers for the French leadership elite in the cultural sector.

The École du Louvre and the Institute for European Art History of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg offer the joint master’s course "International Master’s Art History and Museology" (IMKM). This binational course was founded in the 2006/07 winter semester and is attracting great interest from international students. Since 2017 there has also been a joint doctoral program.
