Frédéric Charles Édouard Alexis Hesling (born December 8, 1869 in Mostaganem , Algeria ; † 1934 ), was a French colonial official and from May 16, 1919 to August 7, 1927, governor of the colony of Upper Volta , today's Burkina Faso .

He was awarded this post on May 16, 1919, but did not arrive until November 9 in Ouagadougou , the capital of the colony founded in the same year. His job was to build the infrastructure and develop the rural regions. His plan to lead the colony to economic prosperity failed and so Upper Volta was divided among its neighboring colonies in 1932.
