Éliane Richepin
Éliane Richepin (* 1910 ; † March 9, 1999 in Paris ) was a French pianist, composer and music teacher.
Richepin studied piano at the Conservatoire de Paris with Marguerite Long , Alfred Cortot and Yves Nat and harmony and counterpoint with Paul Fauchet and Noël Gallon . In 1938 she took part in the competition for the Prix de Rome . In her international career as a pianist she gave around 1200 solo concerts and 700 concerts with orchestra. The focus of her repertoire was on the works of Frédéric Chopin and Claude Debussy . In 1943 she was awarded the Prix de Beaux-Arts for the Fantaisie pour piano et orchester , which she had composed for the Concerts Pasdeloup .
She was a juror at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Busoni Competition and the Long Thinaud Competition and herself initiated an interpretation competition in Montevideo. In 1972 she founded the Université musicale internationale de Paris .
