Éric Lévi (real name Eric Jacques Levisalles , * 1955 in Paris , France ) is a French musician (guitar and keyboard ) and composer .

Life

In 1975, Éric Lévi and Fabienne Shine founded the hard rock band Shakin 'Street , which released the two albums Vampire Rock and Solid As A Rock . Shakin 'Street toured briefly with AC / DC and Blue Öyster Cult before disbanding in 1981.

Later, Eric Lévi wrote the soundtracks for several films, including operation corned beef and the comedy Les Visiteurs (German title: The Visitor ), which was also an international success and the film with the highest grossing in France.

But he became known as the mastermind of the music project ERA .

ERA's debut album of the same name was released in 1997 and became one of the most exported albums in France with over 6 million sales. The successor Era 2 was released in 1999. This was followed by The Mass in 2003 , Reborn in 2008 and The Essential in 2010 .

The mixture of rock, symphonic sounds and Gregorian choirs, often in pseudo-Latin language, is characteristic of the music of ERA.
