Étienne Allegrain
Étienne Allegrain (* 1644 , † 1736 in Paris ) was a French landscape painter of the Baroque .
Life
His work was inspired by Nicolas Poussin . His son Gabriel Allegrain was also a painter, his grandson Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain (1710-1795) was a famous sculptor of the rococo .
Allegrain's works are now in the possession of Versailles Palace , Fontainebleau Palace , Dijon , Dole , Chantilly ; also in the St. Petersburg Hermitage , in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the Vienna Albertina .
Up to $ 31,000 has been paid for his works in the art market in recent years.
