Etienne Blanc

Étienne Blanc (born August 29, 1954 in Givors ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2002 .

Blanc was working as a lawyer when he entered politics in 1980 when he entered the Bourg-en-Bresse City Council . He retired from the city council to be elected mayor of Divonne-les-Bains in 1991 . He was a member of the Démocratie Libérale , which was integrated into the UMP in 2002 . In 2004 he was elected chairman of the UMP in the Ain department . From 1992 he was a member of the Regional Council of Rhône-Alpes , its vice president, he from 1998 to 1999th In 2002 he was elected to the National Assembly in the third constituency of the Ain department, after which he retired from the regional council. He was re-elected as a Member of Parliament in 2007 and 2012.
