Étienne Durand

Étienne Durand (* in the 19th century ; † in the 20th century ) was a French tennis player .

biography

Durand played his way to the semi-finals of the French Covered Court Championship in 1895 and 1898 . That was his best result in one of the biggest tournaments of the time. In 1900 Durand took part in the tennis competition of the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris . In the individual he was clearly defeated by the strong British Reginald Doherty . In doubles , Durand won the first set in the first round with Adrien Fauchier-Magnan together against the pairing of Arthur Norris and Harold Mahony . However, the match was lost in three sets. In 1902 the French Covered Court Championship was his last major tournament.
