The Île Tariec is a tidal island ( French Île-de-marée ) off the coast of the Presqu'ile Ste-Marguerite near Landéda in the Finistère department in Brittany in France .
The island was divided during a heavy storm in 1876, hence also ( French Îles Tariec ). On the part of the island closest to the mainland lie the remains of a 12th century hermitage . The island was used in the past to house the sick suffering from plague and cholera .
On the seaward half of the island there is an approximately 2 meter high grass-covered cairn with a diameter of 15 m and a pointed menhir approximately one meter high .
On the "Île Beg Hamon" of the neighboring island to the east there is the tumulus on the Île Beg Hamon, a cairn about 2 meters high .
