The Île Tristan (also known as Tristan Island ) is a small rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 1.3 km west of the Île Yseult and 300 m north of the western tip of Cape Jules .
Aerial photos were taken during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947). French scientist they mapped in the course of from 1950 lasting until 1952 research travel led by Michel Barré (* 1919) and named it in connection with the Ile Yseult by Tristan , a character from the Artussage , in particular, by the opera Tristan of Richard Wagner is known.
