The Île au Guano ( French ; English Guano Island , each translated Guano Island ) is a rocky and 300 m long island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 0.3 km south of the Île du Chameau in the group of the Curzon Islands .
Participants in a French Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1949 to 1951 made a map and named the island. It is named after the significant occurrence of guano on this island as a result of the excretion of penguins .
