Lella Cuberli (born September 29, 1945 in Austin , Texas as Lela Alice Terrell ) is an American opera singer (soprano) whose name is particularly associated with Mozart and the bel canto repertoire of the early 19th century, especially Rossini . Lella Cuberli studied first at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas and later in Milan . She made her operatic debut in Siena in 1973, and won several prizes at international singing competitions.

In 1975 she appeared in Hungary as Violetta in La traviata and began an intensive international activity. Her debut at La Scala in Milan followed in 1978 in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail , and she was soon recognized as a recognized specialist in Mozart and Handel .
