Liam David Grimshaw (born February 2, 1995 in Burnley ) is an English football player who is under contract with Motherwell FC in the Scottish Premiership .

Career

Liam Grimshaw played until 2014 in the Youth Academy of Manchester United . In addition to national league games for various junior teams, he also played in the UEFA Youth League . Most recently he was the captain of the Red Devils U21 team. However, he made his professional debut during a loan to Scotland to Motherwell FC, where he played from September 2015 to January 2016. On January 18, 2016 Grimshaw was firmly committed by the English second division club Preston North End . There he was only used sporadically with five league appearances, so that a year later he was awarded to Chesterfield FC in the third division in England. In the second half of the 2016/17 season he completed thirteen league games under Gary Caldwell under the later bottom of the table . In August 2017, the 22-year-old Grimshaw moved to Motherwell FC. With Motherwell he reached the final of the Scottish League Cup in 2017, which was lost to Celtic Glasgow .

National team

Liam Grimshaw made his debut for England's U-18 team in October 2012 during an international match against Italy . He was in the starting line-up. In March 2013 he played again in this age group against Belgium , which was also his last appearance in a Three Lions jersey.
