Mark O'Hara (born December 12, 1995 in Barrhead ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with Motherwell FC .

Career

Mark O'Hara was born in Barrhead in December 1995, about seven miles northeast of Glasgow . He began his career 40 kilometers southwest of the Scottish metropolis at FC Kilmarnock . He made his professional debut for the Killies in August 2012 in the second round of the League Cup against FC Stenhousemuir . At 16, he was one of the club's five youngest players and the second youngest in this competition. On October 27, 2012, O'Hara made his debut in the starting XI for the first time in the league in a 2-0 win over Celtic Glasgow at Paradise . It was the first away win at Celtic for FC Kilmarnock since 1955. In the Killies , the young O'Hara was used regularly in the following years despite his age. In the 2015/16 season he fought for a regular place and was used in 29 league games by the end of the season. After a total of 78 league games and 88 competitive games, he left the club in June 2016. He moved within Scotland to Dundee FC . On the first three match days of the 2016/17 season , the central defender scored one goal each against Glasgow Rangers and Hamilton Academical .

In 2018 he moved to the English third division club Peterborough United . This awarded him to Lincoln City in the first half of 2019 . A loan to Motherwell FC followed for the 2019/20 season . Motherwell then signed him.

National team

Mark O'Hara made nine appearances for Scotland's U-19 national team in 2013 . Two years later he played a game in the U-21 against Hungary in Tatabánya .
