Liam Polworth (born October 12, 1994 in Inverness ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Motherwell FC .

Career

society

Polworth began his football career in his native Inverness Caledonian Thistle . For the club he made his professional debut on May 11, 2011 at the age of 16 years and 211 days against Hibernian Edinburgh as the youngest player in the club's history . He won the Scottish Cup with Inverness in 2015 . From the 2015/16 season he was able to fight for a regular place, whereupon the contract of the 21-year-old in the Highlands was extended until 2019.

In April 2019 he signed a preliminary contract with Motherwell FC , which will run from the new 2019/20 season.

National team

Liam Polworth played six times in the Scottish U-16s from August 2009 to January 2010 for which he scored one goal. In August 2010 he made his U-17 debut against Sweden . By the end of 2011 he had played 12 more games in this age group. For the U-21s , Polworth played against Northern Ireland once in 2016 .
