Oli Breckmann

Óli Breckmann (born March 30, 1948 in Tórshavn , Faroe Islands ) is a Faroese politician of the conservative Fólkaflokkurin .

Life

Óli Breckmann is the son of Astrið Dahl-Olsen and Ludvig Breckmann from Tórshavn. He is married to Birna Midjord from Argir .

Breckmann studied English ( University of Edinburgh 1971) and social and economic historian ( University of Bristol 1974). From 1974 to 1984 he was a teacher at the Faroe High School . From 1975 to 1991 and 1998 to 2002 he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Dagblaðið (discontinued in 2002).

Breckmann has been a member of the Faroese parliament Løgting since 1974 . 1995 to 2004 he was parliamentary group leader of his party. From 1984 to 2001 he also sat in the Danish Folketing .
