EcologyPolitics
Ecology Politics (ÖP or ÖDP magazine) is the press organ of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP). It was founded in February 1984 under the name Ecology and Politics .
history
In 1983 the author Ewald Gaul , who was also an Ödp member, independently published three issues of a paper called Ecology and Politics . In February of the following year, the newspaper appeared for the first time as the official party newspaper of the ödp, which had been founded two years earlier and contained an introductory article by the then federal chairman Herbert Gruhl . At that time it was six pages long and published every two months.
An editorial team in the narrower sense was not formed until 1988. Gruhl was the editor in charge, with Heidi Görich and Edgar Guhde at his side. When Gruhl resigned as federal chairman a year later, Guhde was his successor for six months before he was replaced by the new federal chairman Hans-Joachim Ritter . In 1990 it was renamed EcologyPolicy and the layout was revised, and from October 1991 pictures were also used. Further changes in the editorial staff followed in the years to come, but the content was largely shaped by Guhde, who continued to work as an editor until he left the party at the turn of the year 1998/1999. The scope of the content became increasingly larger: initially six to eight pages long, in the mid-1990s it was already 24, at times a little over 40 and in 2015 (August edition) 72 pages. In 1997 Raphael Mankau became editor-in-chief. Since mid-2006, Günther Hartmann shared this office, initially with Florence von Bodisco and later with Pablo Ziller. In August 2002, the print run reached its all-time high with 18,330 copies and was 6,500 in 2008. Ecology Policy appears four times a year as a print and online edition in PDF format.
