Ecological-democratic students

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ecological-democratic students (short name: öds , until 1997 ÖDS ) were the student organization of the ecological-democratic party . They existed from 1987 to 2005.

history

As early as 1986, on the occasion of the election to the student parliament of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the Ecological-Democratic Student List Mainz stood for election . This received 201 votes, which corresponded to 3.2%; through this she was able to get a seat with Claudius Moseler, today's Secretary General of the ödp. In the period that followed, other ÖdP-related university groups formed at other universities, for example in Münster and Munich.

The Ecological-Democratic Students were founded by ten students in Bonn at the end of February 1987 , initially as a pure university group and with the abbreviation ÖDS . The umbrella organization of the same name was founded at the ödp federal party conference in Saarbrücken on February 17, 1989. Monika Kreuzer, who was studying medicine at the TU Darmstadt at the time, became the first chairwoman . Since the parent party has been using lowercase letters since 1997, the student organization followed suit. The öds won mandates in university elections at several universities.

At the general meeting on August 20, 2005 the öds was dissolved after a ballot. The Foundation for Ecology and Democracy received the association's assets .
