Jákup Frederik Øregaard

Jákup Frederik Øregaard (born June 29, 1906 in Leirvík , Faroe Islands , † March 6, 1980 in Norðragøta ) was a Faroese politician of the Social Democrats ( Javnaðarflokkurin ).

Jákup Frederik Øregaard was the son of Malena, b. Hansen and Jacob Øregaard from Leirvík. He was married to Helga Johild Sofía Christiansen from Kvívík . He was a trained businessman.

1940–1978 sat Øregaard in the Faroese parliament, the Løgting , whose chairman he was 1946–1950, 1958–1963 and 1966–1978. In Gøta he was 1950–54 and 1958–1962 in the local council, whose chairman (mayor) he was 1960–62.

1969-72 was Øregaard party leader of the Faroese Social Democrats.
