The Ørnen Rocks ( Norwegian Ørnen Klippene ) are a group of cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are 1.5 km northeast of Cape Melville , the eastern foothills of King George Island .
It is named after the Norwegian whaling ship Ørnen , which ran aground here during a fishing campaign that lasted between 1908 and 1909.
