The Úpský přivaděč is a supply channel in the Czech Republic . It directs water from the Úpa into the Rozkoš reservoir .

course

The canal branches off to the southeast of the Ratibořice Castle in Babiččino údolí at the Zlíč weir on the left side of the Úpa . Initially, it heads south-easterly to the village of Zlíč and is previously guided over the Olešnice brook on an aqueduct . Then the Aupa overpass takes a southerly direction and runs on the eastern outskirts of Česká Skalice to the Rozkoš reservoir. On this section, the canal is crossed by four roads, including the Silnice I / 33 , and the Jaroměř – Lubawka railway line to Poland .

The channel bed has a double trapezoidal profile and is attached to the bottom with concrete. The Úpský přivaděč has a gradient of 0.75 ‰; the maximum flow rate is 150 m³ / s.

history

The first considerations for the construction of a dam on the Rozkoš brook arose in 1923, at which time a supply line from the Úpa was already being considered. The construction of a weir and hydroelectric power station on the Úpa near Zlíč and a feeder to the Rozkoš reservoir was part of the general project for the Rozkoš and Peklo dams and the pumped storage plant in Domkov , which was drawn up in 1939. In 1952, the preparatory work on the project that had begun the year before was canceled again due to insufficient preparation.

After a new investment plan, reduced to the Rozkoš dam, the Úpa weir and the supply line, had been approved in 1960, the canal and dam construction took place between 1965 and 1972. The hydropower plant on the Úpa weir near Zlíč, which was postponed for a second construction phase, was never realized.
