history

Domkov was probably founded in the first half of the 13th century. There was a fortress in the village , which was first mentioned in 1434. At that time it was owned by the Buchovský von Buchov ( z Buchova ), who were present at the coronation of the Bohemian King George of Podebrady in 1458 . Their most famous representative was Zbyněk z Buchova, who in 1494 acquired half of the neighboring Veselice ( Weselitz ) rule . He was in the service of the Duke and Count of Glatz from Münsterberg , Heinrich the Elder. Ä. who also owned the Nachod reign . Just a year later, Zbyněk z Buchova sold his Weselitz property and Domkov the Nikolaus ( Mikuláš ) Trčka von Lípa , who owned the Opočno domain . 1533 came Domkov together with a third of the Opočno rule to Jan the Elder. J. Trčka from Lípa. In 1542 he sold Domkov and Veselice to Johann von Pernstein ( Jan z Pernštejna ), who had inherited the rule of Neustadt an der Mettau in 1534 . As a result, Domkov also came to the rule Neustadt, which was sold to Wolfgang von Stubenberg in 1548 . Despite further changes of ownership, Domkov remained connected to the new town until the patrimonial rule was abolished. The parish was also Neustadt.

From 1849 Domkov formed a municipality with Šeřeč in the judicial district of Neustadt an der Mettau. In 1851 Domkov consisted of 13 houses with 67 inhabitants. From 1868 the municipality of Šeřeč with Domkov and Kleny belonged to the district of Neustadt an der Mettau . After the repeal of the Okres Nové Město nad Metují, Šeřeč and its districts were assigned to the Okres Náchod in 1948. In 1950 Domkov consisted of 21 houses with 52 inhabitants. In 1961 Domkov was incorporated into Provodov together with Šeřeč and Kleny.

Even before the First World War, there were plans to build a reservoir on the cadastral area of Domkov, on which the Rozkoš pond was already located, to which the entire village of Domkov and parts of Šeřeč were to be sacrificed. It was not realized until 1960–1970 with the construction of the Rozkoš reservoir . In 1961 Domkov consisted of 42 residents.

Trivia
