The district of Šonov extends on the Šonovský potok , Provodov lies on its tributary Provodovský potok.

history

The municipality Provodov-Šonov was created on July 1, 1985 through the merger of the municipalities Provodov and Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují.

Provodov

Provodov was founded before the year 1213. In that year, the Bohemian King Ottokar I Přemysl gave the market village of Provodov together with the then "Nesvačilov" or "Neswachilow" (now Šeřeč ) and the Politzer Sprengel to the monks of the Břevnov monastery . They were commissioned to first colonize the Politz area and then the area of Braunau , which at that time still belonged to the Glatzer Land . After the market was transferred from Provodov to Politz under King Ottokar II. Přemysl , Provodov lost its importance. Presumably for this reason the monks Provodov donated the castle count Benesch von Wartenberg ( Beneš z Vartenberka ) to the castle count Benesch von Wartenberg ( Beneš z Vartenberka ) for a lifelong usufruct . In 1530, the Břevnov Monastery sold Provodov together with Nesvačilov to the owner of the New Town estate , Vojtěch / Adalbert von Pernstein . He parceled out the land of the village, which had been largely depopulated since the Hussite Wars, and leased it to new settlers who were obliged to do labor . Until the abolition of patrimonial Provodov remained connected with the rule Nové Město / New Town and was parish there.

From 1849 Provodov formed a municipality with the district Václavice in the judicial district of New Town. In 1854 a school was built in Provodov, the costs of which were borne by the authorities in Náchod, Nové Město / New Town and Opočno . In 1851 Provodov consisted of 35 houses with 229 inhabitants. From 1868 the Provodov community belonged to the Neustadt an der Mettau district . After the dissolution of the Okres Nové Město nad Metují, Provodov was assigned to the Okres Náchod in 1948. In 1961 Kleny and Šeřeč (with Domkov) were incorporated.

Šonov

Manor in Šonov

Šonov (also Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují ; German Schonow , also Schönau ), which was first mentioned in 1300, was probably created in the second half of the 13th century by the Vladyken Šonovský von Šonov. As late as 1254, the surrounding forests are said to have belonged to Hummel Castle ( … hvozdy, náležejicí ke hradu Homoli ). In the 14th century, Šonov fell to the lords of Duba , who incorporated it into their Nachod rule . They sold the upper half of Šonov to Jan von Potštejn , who at that time owned the independent Krčín . The lower, post or part of Šonov belonged to the robber baron Jan Kolda of Žampach in the 15th century . This is probably why Šonov was burned down by the Silesians in 1441 . In 1484 the Krčin estate, to which the upper half of Šonov belonged, was acquired by Jan Černčický von Kácov . He transferred the rights from Krčin to the newly founded Neustadt an der Mettau . With that, the upper half of Šonov came to the rule New Town, which was acquired in 1527 by Vojtěch / Adalbert von Pernstein .

The lower half of Šonov, which until then belonged to the Nachod reign, was acquired by the Straka von Nedabilitz ( Strakové z Nedabylic ) lords before 1540 . Jan d. Ä. Straka von Nedabilitz also acquired the upper Neustadt half of Šonov from Johann / Hans von Stubenberg in 1564 . Now all of Šonov belonged to the Straka von Nedabilitz. Around 1576, Johann Georg ( Jan Jiří ) Straka built a stone fortress next to the existing outwork . In the neighboring Václavice he built in the church of St. Wenceslas a tomb for himself and his family. Johann Georg's son Peter Straka the Elder In 1641, because of over-indebtedness, J. was forced to sell what was formerly the Nachod or half to the new owner of the Nachod estate, Octavio Piccolomini , who in turn linked it to the Nachod estate. The former upper half of Neustadt came in 1643 to the new owner of the Neustadt estate, Field Marshal Walter Leslie . In 1646, during the Thirty Years' War, Šonov was burned to the ground.

Octavio Piccolomini had the partially ruined fortress and the forework in the lower part of Šonov renovated. An economic boom came under Duke Peter von Biron , who had acquired the Nachod rule in 1792. He had the Šonov Vorwerk rebuilt in stone and named it "Dorotheenhof" ( Dorotin dvůr ) after his wife Dorothea von Medem . During the reign of the Biron daughter Wilhelmine von Sagan , the following or half of Šonov are occupied: Dorotheenhof, forester's house, forge, a half-farmer and 17 cottages .

After the abolition of patrimonial Šonov formed a municipality in the judicial district of New Town from 1849. In 1851 there were 526 inhabitants in Šonov. From 1868 the municipality of Šonov belonged to the Neustadt an der Mettau district. After the repeal of the Okres Nové Město nad Metují, Šonov was assigned to the Okres Dobruška in 1948, which was dissolved during the territorial reform of 1960. After that, the community became part of Okres Náchod and was given the new name Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují ; This served to distinguish it from the other community Šonov that was simultaneously added from the former Okres Broumov for náchod district.

Community structure

The municipality Provodov-Šonov consists of the districts Kleny ( Klen ), Provodov ( Prowodow ), Šeřeč ( Schertsch ), Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují ( Schonow , also Schönau ) and Václavice ( Wenzelsberg ). Basic settlement units are Domkov ( Domkau ), Kleny, Na Horách, Provodov, Šeřeč, Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují and Václavice.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Domkov, Kleny, Provodov, Šeřeč and Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují.
