Slavětín nad Metují (German Slawietin an der Mettau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers southwest of Nové Město nad Metují and belongs to the Okres Náchod .
geography
Slavětín nad Metují is on the left side of the river Metuje ( Mettau ). Neighboring towns are Velká Jesenice and Doubravice in the north, Nahořany and Černčice in the northeast, Bohuslavice and Pohoři in the southeast, Roheničky and Rohenice in the south, Jasenná and Starý Ples in the west.
history
Slavětín nad Metují was first mentioned in writing in 1495. It initially belonged to the Veselice ( Wesselitz ) domain , then to the Nové Město nad Metují domain and later to the Opočno domain . A smaller part belonged temporarily to the Žamberk rule . At the end of the 18th century, the neighboring village of Hlohov (formerly Lochov ) was incorporated into Slavětín nad Metují.
Since 1750 the children received school lessons in changing accommodations. In 1895 a new school building was erected, in which lessons were held until 1965. The children have been attending primary school in České Meziříčí since the school year 1965 . The former schoolhouse has served as a community office and library since then.
