The Okres Náchod ( German district Nachod ) is located in the Czech Republic in the northeast of the Königgrätzer Region ( Královéhradecký kraj ) between the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) and the Eagle Mountains (Orlické hory). The lowest point is at 220, the highest at 880 above sea level. M. With 852 km² it is the smallest district in this region, in which 110,240 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) live. 62% of the land can be used for agriculture, the forests take up about a quarter of the area. There are 78 municipalities in the district, ten of which are cities.
