Libchyně (German Libchin , also Lipchin ) is a municipality in Okres Náchod in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers northeast of Nové Město nad Metují (New Town on the Mettau) .
geography
Libchyně is located in the valley of the Libchyňský potok (Libchiner Bach) , which flows into the Metuje (Mettau) as a left tributary at Nové Město nad Metují . Neighboring towns are Sendraž in the north, Mezilesi and Nový Hrádek in the northeast, Slavoňov in the southeast and Jestřebí in the northeast. Two kilometers northwest of Libchyně is the "Peklo Nature Reserve" ( Přírodní rezervace Peklo u Nového Města nad Metují ).
history
Libchyně was first mentioned in writing in 1459. At that time it belonged to the Krčín lordship , which in 1484 came to Jan Černčický von Kácov . In 1503 he gave Libchyně to the town of Nové Město nad Metují, which he founded in 1501, to which he subsequently transferred the rights and royal privileges of Krčín. Despite several changes of ownership, Libchyně remained subject to the city of Neustadt an der Mettau until the patrimonial rule was abolished in 1848. The parish was Slavoňov.
During the territorial reform of 1960, together with Jestřebí, it was incorporated into the municipality of Sendraž. Since 1990 Libchyně has been an independent municipality again.
In 1830 there were 221 inhabitants, in 1940 there were 227. Currently, most of the accommodation is used as holiday apartments.
