history
It is not known when Slavoňov was founded. It is possible that the foundation goes back to the Archdean of Königgrätz, Slavoň, who received the surrounding area from the sovereign in 1167. It belonged to the Opočno dominion in the old Bohemian Hradec Kralove and was first mentioned in 1384. At that time the Church of John the Baptist already existed, which had its own pastor. In 1553 it was rebuilt as a foundation of Johann (Jan) Kotlačka and his son of the same name, who came from neighboring Blažkov. Later it came to the district of the deanery church of Dobruška . In 1721 it was assigned as a branch to the parish church in Nový Hrádek, in 1787 it was given its own localist, and in 1790 the rectory was built. In 1806 the church was raised again to a parish church. The parishes were next to Slavoňov Bohdašín with Vanovka (Wanowka) , Sendraž, Mezilesí, Blažkov (Blaschkow) , Jestřebí, Zákraví (Sakraw) and Libchyně.
In 1836 the parish church of John the Baptist and the school built in 1789 were under the patronage of the Religious Fund . The then counted 277 inhabitants lived in 49 houses.
After the abolition of patrimonial Slavoňov became an independent municipality in 1848, which from 1850 belonged to the Neustadt an der Mettau district . After the Okres Nové Město nad Metují was abolished, the community came to Okres Dobruška in 1949, and since 1961 it has belonged to Okres Náchod.
