Šestajovice ( German  Schestowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 7 km east of Jaroměř and belongs to the Okres Náchod .

Šestajovice is located on the left side of the Metuje ( Mettau ) in its river level below the confluence of the Rozkoš . To the southeast lies the nature reserve Šestajovická stráň .

Neighboring towns are Volovka in the north, Vinice and Veselice in the northeast, Roztoky in the east, Slavětín nad Metují in the southeast, Rohenice and Jasenná in the south, Kopeček and Starý Ples in the west and Rychnovek and Zvole in the northwest.

history

Šestajovice was first mentioned in a document in 1450.

After the abolition of patrimonial Šestajovice / Schestowitz formed a municipality in the Dvůr Králové nad Labem district from 1850 .

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Czech place name was also written Šestovice . In the 1930s the village was reclassified to the Jaroměř District. This was dissolved on January 1, 1961, and the village came to Okres Náchod. At the same time, Roztoky was incorporated. On April 30, 1976, Šestajovice and Roztoky were incorporated into Jasenná. The municipality of Šestajovice has existed again since September 1st, 1990.
