history

The first documentary mention of Mezilesí took place on August 30, 1403 in the course of the erection of a memorial altar for Beneš Silný of Dubá in the Náchoder Laurentiuskirche. Most of the village, which originally belonged to the Krčín domain , came under the Nachod domain in the 15th century . Only two farmsteads remained with Krčín and passed to the new rule Nové Město nad Metují at the beginning of the 16th century . The berní rula shows a total of 17 properties for Mezilesí. In the 18th century, home weaving found its way into the less profitable agriculture as extra income. Mezilesí used to be parish in Nový Hrádek and the school was in Slavoňov. At the beginning of the 19th century the parish was changed to Slavoňov. In 1864 a school opened in Mezilesí. In 1869 550 people lived in the village. In 1879 a major fire destroyed parts of the village.
