Vršovka (German Werschow , formerly Wrowka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers southwest of Nové Město nad Metují and belongs to the Okres Náchod .
geography
Vršovka located in Podorlicko left side of the river Metuje ( Mettau ) on the hill Pustinka (354 m), at the headwaters of the stream Rejhy . To the west rises the Králíčkův kopec ( Serowatkowskiberg , 330 m). To the south of the village is the Halín reservoir , and to the west is the Kacíř pond .
Neighboring towns are Krčín in the north, Nové Město nad Metují and Spy in the northeast, Březiny and Běstviny in the east, Dobruška in the southeast, Pulice and Puličky in the south, Pohoří in the southwest, Bohuslavice and Homole in the west and Černčice in the northwest.
history
Vršovka was first mentioned in 1527 as a property of the Nové Město nad Metují manor . After the Thirty Years' War the village was divided; four properties belonged to the Opočno domain .
In 1836 Vršovka had 222 inhabitants and consisted of 40 houses. In 1848 231 people lived in the village. After the abolition of patrimonial Vršovka formed from 1850 a municipality in the Nové Město nad Metují district. In 1930 Vršovka had 218 residents. After the Second World War, the village was reclassified to Okres Dobruška and has belonged to Okres Náchod since its dissolution in 1960.
