history

Neo-Gothic Church of St. Peter and Paul

Zaloňov was first mentioned in writing in 1361 with the Latin name Zalonow villa . It belonged to the Königgrätzer district and was part of the Opočno domain . The church of St. Peter and Paul, mentioned in 1363, was a branch of Semonice ( Semonitz ). End of the 14th century was part of Zaloňov rule Žireč ( Schurz ). This sold in 1539 Georg von Gersdorff auf Choltitz ( Jiřík z Gerštorfu a na Cholticích ) to Adam Zilvár von Pilník, whose family was expropriated after the Battle of the White Mountains because of their participation in the Bohemian class uprising . The rule of Žireč took over on July 8, 1622, Maria Magdalena Trčka of Lípa, born Lobkowitz , who already belonged to the Opočno rule and who in 1623 also acquired the confiscated Náchod and Nové Město nad Metují dominions . After the murder of their son Adam Erdmann Trčka von Lípa in 1634 in Eger, Emperor Ferdinand III confiscated the castle . all Trčka goods. The rule of Žireč with Zaloňov, which at that time was called Salmov ( Salnay ), was donated by the emperor to the Jesuit College St. Anna in Vienna in 1635 . After the order was dissolved in 1773, the Žireč reign fell to the religious fund, which sold it to the landowner Martin Wagner in 1828. During this time, Zaloňov has 349 inhabitants, a school, a church and two manors.

After the abolition of patrimonial in 1848, Zaloňov became an independent municipality and belonged to the Jaroměř judicial district until 1938. Electrification took place around 1930. After the Munich Agreement in 1938, Zaloňov, which was predominantly German-populated, was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Trautenau district until 1945 . In 1945 and 1946 the German residents were expelled.

1945 Zaloňov was incorporated into the Okres Jaroměř; after its dissolution it came to the Okres Náchod on July 1, 1960 .
