Borová ( German Borowa ) is a municipality in Okres Náchod in northeastern Czech Republic . It is located in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains , 14 kilometers southeast of Náchod , directly on the border with Poland .
geography
Borová is located on the district road 22, which runs from Náchod to Deštné v Orlických horách (Deschnei in the Eagle Mountains) . Neighboring towns are Dlouhé (Langenau) in the southeast, Nový Hrádek (Neubürgles) in the south, Mezilesí (Metzles) and Sendraž (Sendrasch) in the southwest and Česká Čermná (Bohemian Tscherma) in the northwest. On the other side of the border with Poland are Jeleniów (Gellenau) and Jarków (Järker) in the north, Lewin Kłodzki (Lewin) and Krzyżanów (Krzischney; 1929–1945: Kreuzdorf) in the north-east, Kocioł (Lewin Kłodzki) (Kuttel) and Jerzykowice Małe ( Kleingeorgsdorf) in the east and Taszów (Tassau) in the southeast. Immediately on the border rises the 700 m high góra Borowa in the east.
history
Borova belonged to the Nachod rule and was first mentioned around the middle of the 14th century. Another mention of the year 1445 can be found in the Nach or Gedenkbuch. The parish was Nový Hrádek ( Neubürgles ).
Attractions
- The Sacred Heart Chapel (Božské srdce Páně) was built in 1934–1937; from here there is a good view of the Giant Mountains , the Table Mountain Ostaš , the Heuscheuer Mountains and the ridges of the Eagle Mountains.
