The first written mention of Chvalkovice came from 1350, when it was listed in a compilation of the parish churches belonging to the Archdiocese of Prague . The next mention of 1359 refers to the appointment of the then Chwalkowitz pastor Jan as pastor of Hořičky . Subsequently, Chvalkovice was listed as a manor several times in the Bohemian country table .

The first known owner was Peter von Chwalkowitz ( Petr z Chvalkovic ) in 1370 . He was followed by Stříza, widow of Bavor. After Jan Šváb, the owners changed several times. In 1600 Chvalkovice bought Rudolf Dobřenský from Dobřenic . For 1654 five farms, 23 cottagers and 18 chalupners are recorded .

In the second half of the 18th century, the Chvalkovice manor consisted of the villages of Nesytov, Komárov, Svinišťany , Říkov , Bukovina, Žluva and Výhled, and Chvalkovice, which included the manor, chateau, rectory and brewery. Jan Josef Dobřenský von Dobřenic sold the listed properties in 1798 to Duke Peter von Biron from Courland , who united them with his 1792 reign of Náchod . After his death in 1800 his eldest daughter Katharina Wilhelmine von Sagan inherited the Nachod rule . After her death, her sister Pauline von Hohenzollern-Hechingen sold the Nachoder possessions to Octavio von Lippe-Biesterfeld , from whom they passed in 1842 to Prince Georg Wilhelm from the ruling house of Schaumburg-Lippe . The Chvalkovice estate remained in the Schaumburg-Lippe family until 1945.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chvalkovice became an independent municipality. During the German War of 1866, the Battle of Pig Skulls was fought near Chvalkovice .
