Přibyslav (German Prenzlau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of Nové Město nad Metují and belongs to the Okres Náchod .

geography

Přibyslav is located on the right side above the valley of the Metuje ( Mettau ) on a river bend, opposite the confluence of the Olešenka . The Sendražský Kopec (618 m) rises to the east .

Neighboring towns are Bražec and Lipí in the north, Jizbice in the northeast, Sendraž in the east, Jestřebí in the southeast, Nové Město nad Metují in the southwest, Vrchoviny and Šonov u Nového Města nad Metují in the west and Václavice in the northwest.

history

According to old traditions of Mettau over the country waiting are over the river bend on the Sendražský kopec in the 11th century Chaluppen have stood. The place was first mentioned in 1336 when Heřman von Dubá on Náchod acquired the Krčín rule . Originally Přibyslav belonged to Krčín and later passed to Elisabeth von Kostelec and Červená Hora , who owned the place in 1396. At the beginning of the 15th century, Beneš von Riesenburg and Krčín left the place to his sister Elisabeth von Ratibořice , the wife of Hynko von Dubá and Vízmburk. This joined the place of the rule Vízmburk . In the 15th century Přibyslav became part of the Nachod rule .

In 1836, Father Karel Rojek from Nové Město nad Metují founded a library. After the abolition of patrimonial Přibyslav became an independent municipality in the Nové Město nad Metují district in 1849. The school was located in Krčín until 1850 and then in Vrchoviny. From 1853 Přibyslav was parish in Nové Město nad Metují, but the funerals continued to take place in Krčín until 1870.
