Krčín is located northwest of the city center of Nové Město nad Metují. Neighboring towns are Šonov and Václavice in the north, Vrchoviny ( Verkhovin ), Přibyslav and Jestřebí in the northeast, Libchyně and Mezilesí in the east, Chlistov and Spy (Spie) in the southeast, and Nahořany in the west. There is also the Rozkoš reservoir .

history

The Krčín fortress , which is documented for the years 1360 and 1388, was probably built in the 13th century. At that time Krčín belonged to the Beneš of Krčín. Hajman von Dubá on Náchod is documented as the owner of the year 1335 . In 1360 it came to Čeněk von Pottenstein or from Žampach , who was followed by his son Václav. From 1388 to 1408 it belonged to Beneš from Rýzmburk on Krčín, followed by Aleš and Sezema from Rýzmburk. A document from 1403 also mentions a Krčín castle . According to oral tradition, it is said to have stood east of the Krčín settlement above the Mettau in a place called "Hradiště" (castle site) . During the Hussite Wars , the Jaroměř city governor Hynek von Červená Hora , who was on the side of King Sigismund , attacked the Hussite town of Krčín and destroyed it. In addition to Krčín with its fortress and a fortress, the towns of Sendraž , Mezilesí , Libchyně , Nahořany and Dolsko (valley bottom) as well as parts of Doubravice ( Daubrawitz ), Šonov, Vrchoviny and Přibyslav belonged to the castle lordship of Krčín .

In 1483 Jan Černčický von Kácov on Černčice bought Krčín goods and tried to re-establish the destroyed town. Since he was unsuccessful, he founded the town of Nové Město nad Metují ( New Town on the Mettau ) in 1501 on the former Hradiště . There he transferred all rights and royal privileges of Krčín in 1503. This led to the impoverishment of the small town of Krčín, which subsequently sank into a village.

After the abolition of patrimonial Krčín formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Neustadt and from 1868 in the district of Neustadt. After the repeal of the Okres Nové Město nad Metují, Krčín was assigned to the Okres Dobruška in 1948, which was dissolved during the territorial reform of 1960. On January 28, 1949 Krčín was incorporated into Nové Město nad Metují.

In 1907 the Krčín City Hall was built, in 1910 a power station and in 1937 a gymnasium. For 1930 there are 1323 inhabitants in Krčín, 1314 of them Czech.
